The CIEH Level 1 Award in Nutrition has been designed to provide a good, basic understanding of nutrition.
Who needs this qualification?
This qualification will be useful as induction training in catering environments, for employees who are involved in the selection of menus, recipes and ingredients. It will be equally relevant for the hospitality, leisure, education, health and community care sectors.
Why is this training important?
This qualification will provide an understanding of the relationship between diet, health and disease, and the principles and importance of a well-balanced diet.
On successful completion of the qualification, the learner will:
- understand the type and function of nutrients found in food
- understand the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet for good health.
