Submissions wanted for the MJ Awards
The MJ awards are open for nominations and you have just over a month to submit your entry.
The awards are in their 13th year and the CIEH is urging its members and the wider environmental health profession to submit entries before Friday 12 February.
The CIEH is sponsoring the ‘Trading Standards and Environmental Health’ award, alongside the Trading Standards Institute, and the winners will be presented with their gongs at the glitzy awards ceremony on 16 June at the Hilton Park Lane in London.
The Trading Standards and Environmental Health award is an opportunity for councils to showcase the best work being carried out by services and to highlight innovative examples of good practice.
Entries are expected to be diverse and topics of interest for the judges include projects that contribute to public health, food safety, tobacco and alcohol control, crime and disorder, housing, and projects that reduce consumer detriment.
Those interested in applying should focus their entry on a single project or initiative and include evidence drawing on current examples, including customer and business feedback, engagement with key stakeholders to meet council and community outcomes, including how the project has secured positive outcomes.
Other categories of interest for environmental health professionals could also include ‘Best Council Services Team’ award, ‘Delivering Better Outcomes’ award and many more
Sharon Smith, CIEH’s Regional Stakeholder Manager said: “The MJ awards is a very prestigious event and is a great opportunity for EHPs to showcase their achievements in lots of different areas, whilst getting recognised for the excellent work they do in protecting and improving health and wellbeing.
“This is your chance to highlight all the great work you have been doing and we would like to see lots of our environmental health colleagues at the grand event in London in the summer.”
