Membership survey winners announced

Three people have won free CIEH membership for the whole of 2016 having taken part in a survey where the CIEH asked all its members for their thoughts on how they are supported and what they would like to see improved for the future.

The winners include Gillian Goddard, David Kean and Wendy Little, who are all Chartered members, and their details were announced in the August edition of the monthly newsletter Member Connect, having been selected at random.

The survey closed on Friday 14 August and was completed by 1,116 members, with 844 people entering the prize draw.

Originally launched at the end of June, the membership survey was instigated so the CIEH could gauge the thoughts and opinions of all of its members around their professional lives, their views of the current membership offer and what can be done to make it more relevant and valuable.

Questions for the survey were led by the CIEH’s membership team and informed by focus groups at the Assembly of Representatives, delegates at the Annual Meeting, the Chairs and Secretaries of the regions, as well as the various Special Interest Groups.

The membership survey forms part of the CIEH’s Environmental Health Futures (EH Futures) initiative and all the responses will help the CIEH tailor and enhance its future services to directly benefit the needs of its members.

Once the responses have been collated and analysed, the results and the CIEH’s response to them will be shared with members through Environmental Health News, the CIEH website and other member communications channels throughout the autumn.

Catherine Horsfield, the CIEH’s Executive Director of Stakeholder Engagement, said: “As part of the landmark Environmental Health Futures programme, we are conducting an in-depth review of all our membership services. It is absolutely vital that we provide services in the future that are relevant as well as directly benefit our members and that’s why it was so important that we gauged the views of the very people we are aiming to support in their professional development.

“Congratulations to Gillian, David and Wendy and thanks to the fantastic response we received from our members, we now have robust intelligence to inform our future strategies.”
