Countdown begins to start of Year Ahead Conference 2016
The Year Ahead Conference 2016, the foremost regulatory event in the calendar, is only a month away and the CIEH is urging people to book their places now.
This year’s event is on 11 and 12 February at the Holiday Inn, Stratford-upon-Avon, and will give the opportunity for local politicians and managers responsible for regulatory services to gain an insight into how to effectively navigate the changing regulatory and structural landscape.
The 2016 conference, which is being hosted by the CIEH in partnership with the Better Regulation Delivery Office, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute and the Local Government Association, will play an important role in shaping and discussing the future regulatory services agenda.
Topics to be discussed over the two-day conference, which will be co-chaired by the CIEH’s new Chief Executive Anne Godfrey, includes: new legislation scheduled for 2016, including the Enterprise Bill; Primary Authority partnerships, and new regulatory apprenticeship schemes.
Regulatory services include trading standards, environmental health and licensing, as well as fire and rescue services and are vital in helping to promote and protect the success of a modern vibrant economy, as well as maintain and improve people’s health and wellbeing.
Tony Lewis, Head of Policy and Education for the CIEH, said: “The Year Ahead Conference is the stand-out regulatory event of the year, attracting a wide array of people from Local Authority cabinet members and portfolio holders to senior service managers.
“Regulatory services are so important for our health protection and wellbeing, as well as improving economic prosperity, and this year’s event will provide new insights and guidance that will ultimately help to improve regulatory services in the UK.”
