CIEH welcomes Anne Godfrey as new CEO
Anne Godfrey has officially begun her tenure as the new Chief Executive of the CIEH following Graham Jukes’ departure at the end of 2015.
Anne’s first day was Monday 4 January having joined the CIEH from CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) where she served as Chief Executive since 2012.
Previously CEO of the GTMC (Guild of Travel Management Companies), Anne has had leadership roles in a diverse range of membership organisations including the Law Society, where she was Director of Commercial and Membership services, and the CBI, where she was Commercial Director.
Anne is the first female to lead the CIEH in its 150 year history, which has seen four chief executives, 10 honorary secretaries and then general secretaries, all of whom were men.
Anne said: “I am delighted to have finally arrived at the CIEH and I look forward to getting to know all the staff at the CIEH, our members and the various stakeholders we work with.
“Environmental health services are vital to help improve our health and wellbeing. My priority will therefore be to ensure the CIEH continues to be a leader in the profession and a driving force in improving the nation’s health and prosperity.”
