Hosting a course
Local authorities can apply to host a course, which will require securing a free venue and fufilment of a venue specification. We will then select the most appropriate location. The host authority will be guaranteed two places on that course, and their bookings and those of the other delegates will be managed by us.
Once a venue is agreed, the course and location will be advertised on our website for individual officers to apply. We will administer all delegate bookings, but if a course becomes full then there will be a maximum two officers per local authority.
Individual officers will arrange their own travel to and from courses. For residential courses the Food Standards Agency will arrange and pay for overnight accommodation and an evening meal – residential courses will be clearly marked.
