Public Health England

The CIEH was contracted to produce an online resource, supported by Public Health England (PHE). It aims to inform Environmental Health Practitioners and local authorities on the impact that housing conditions can have on physical and mental health, with the objective to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Food Standards Agency (FSA) Training Courses

The CIEH is delivering a number of training courses on behalf of the Food Standards Agency (FSA) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The courses focus on areas where scientific and technical knowledge is required to uphold food safety standards, including HACCP in Speciality Cheesemaking, managing food allergens and Sous Vide and/ or low temperature cooking. The courses are free to attend and are available for local authority officers. Read more

The London 2012 Olympics

The CIEH supported the planning and preparations for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, working closely with the Olympic and Paralympics administration, government departments and agencies, environmental health professionals and businesses to promote the highest standards of public and environmental health in the lead up to and during the Games. In general terms the CIEH supported the planning process, promoted consistency in environmental health standards, policy and practice, and identified and shared learning as a legacy. Read more

Smokefree Legislation

The CIEH was contracted to deliver the National Smoke Free Legislation Training Programme on behalf of the Department of Health to prepare local authorities for securing compliance with the Smokefree Legislation which came into force in England in 2007. Read more

The London Borough of Enfield

The London Borough of Enfield Regulatory Services division was required to achieve 25% savings over a period of 30 months. CIEH Advisory Services was commissioned to carry out a strategic review of Regulatory Services meeting key reporting objectives. Read more

The Borough of Broxbourne

Significant changes to the Political and Economic landscape including a focus on Outsourcing and the Development of Shared Services have led to a range of issues impacting upon the delivery of Regulatory Services. Broxbourne commissioned CIEH Advisory services to carry out a review and feasibility study to assess the potential for the sharing of Environmental Health services with the London Borough of Enfield. London Borough of Harrow via Capita

Harrow Council faced significant financial challenges for 2013 with Environmental Services facing a £1.5 million budget reduction with a further £350,000 reduction required for 2014. Read more.

Luton Council Building and Technical Services (Luton BTS)

Luton BTS sought a time and cost effective means of training 180 management, office and technical staff in Health and Safety, Risk Assessment, Manual Handling and Working Safely at Height with a specific focus on risk in construction and building technical service environments. Training incorporated Luton BTS’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures with a robust examination element and certification for passed candidates. Read more

The Caravan Club required tailored Fire Safety Training for its Caravan Club Site Wardens that not only effectively trained Site Wardens in the principles and practise of Fire Safety but was tailored to focus on the risks specific to a Caravan Park environment. Read more.
